P-SHOT™ for Mens Sexual Health and Male Enhancement

Platelet-rich plasma (PRP) treatments are commonly used for a variety of conditions, including Men’s Sexual Health conditions such as erectile dysfunction, and a desire to have harder, firmer, and larger erections. The process involves harvesting blood from the individual, then isolating and concentrating its plasma portion into platelet-rich plasma (PRP). The objective is to create PRP that is regenerative with a platelet concentration > 1,000,000/microliter. At HOGUE CLINICS, PRP is tested using a hematology analyzer to calculate the platelet concentration within the harvested whole blood and also within the isolated PRP. At HOGUE CLINICS, the P-SHOT (Priapus Shot®) has four (4) treatment options which depend on the amount of harvested blood taken from the patient’s vein. The determination of which P-SHOT™ choice is best for a patient is based on factors such as underlying severity and extent of erectile dysfunction (ED), patient’s treatment goals, budget and affordability issues, and of course, the patient’s personal choice. Dr. Hogue consults individually to help each patient make their best informed choice and selection from the available ED treatment offerings at HOGUE CLINICS.

The four P-SHOT™ treatment choices include the following:

  1. Mini P-SHOT™ – involves 60ccs of harvested blood to isolate and concentrate PRP. This represents the usual volume of whole blood harvested during a standard P-SHOT™ in the U.S. by P-SHOT™ providers. While the average cost for a standard P-SHOT™ in the United States (which is equivalent to a Mini P-SHOT™ at HOGUE CLINICS) is $1800, the cost for a Mini P-SHOT™ at HOGUE CLINICS is only $600. This is because Dr. Hogue (owner of HOGUE CLINICS) is committed to price transparency, patient awareness, and more affordable Mens’ Sexual Health treatments for his patients.
  2. Minor P-SHOT™ – involves 120ccs of harvested blood to isolate and concentrate PRP. This represents 2x the usual and customary volume of whole blood that is harvested during a standard P-SHOT™ in the United States. At HOGUE CLINICS the cost for a Minor P-SHOT™ is $1200.
  3. Major P-SHOT™ – involves 180ccs of harvested blood to isolate and concentrate PRP. This represents 3x the usual and customary volume of whole blood that is harvested during a standard P-SHOT™ in the United States. At HOGUE CLINICS the cost for a Major P-SHOT™ is $1800.
  4. Mega P-SHOT™ – involves 180ccs of harvested blood to isolate and concentrate PRP. This represents 4x the usual and customary volume of whole blood that is harvested during a standard P-SHOT™ in the United States. The Mega P-SHOT™ is for the man that needs to “Go Big”, or “Go Home”. The Mega P-SHOT™ is the ultimate P-SHOT™ treatment for the man that needs maximum help and desires maximum results. At HOGUE CLINICS the cost for a Major P-SHOT™ is $2400.

PRP, when concentrated to platelet regenerative levels, contains numerous bioactive agents, including 30+ growth factors, cytokines, proteins, and peptides that improve vascularity and erectile potential. PRP stimulates the body’s natural regenerative responses for tissue repair and cellular regeneration.

What Conditions Can Be Treated Using Platelet-Rich Plasma Replacement Therapy?

There are multiple conditions where PRP treatments can be used, including:

  • Orthopedic Conditions: Men and women suffering from musculoskeletal conditions such as knee arthritis, shoulder arthritis, or other conditions involving injured or degenerative tendons, ligaments, joints, muscles, rotator cuffs, labrum tears, or torn knee meniscus may benefit from PRP injections
  • Hair Conditions: Men and women suffering from hair loss, hair thinning hair, and genetic pattern balding may benefit from biologic hair restoration with PRP and scalp micro needling
  • Men’s Sexual Health Conditions: Men struggling with sexual health conditions such as erectile dysfunction or decreasing sexual satisfaction may benefit from P-Shot with PRP
  • Men’s Sexual Enhancement: Men desiring male enhancement, increased penile girth, enhanced orgasms and sexual pleasure, and firmer, enlarged erection potential may benefit from P-Shot with PRP

How Is PRP Administered to the Body for Men’s Sexual Health?

Once PRP has been isolated from harvested blood, it is then injected directly into targeted areas at point of care. For instance, for men struggling with sexual dysfunction, the PRP is injected directly into the cavernosum soft tissue locations on each side of the penis. The platelet-rich plasma helps regenerate cells and promote new tissue growth and enhanced blood supply to help resolve erectile dysfunction (ED)issues and other sexual dysfunctions.

What are the PRP Benefits for Men Having PRP Treatments?

When PRP treatments are used to treat ED and to provide male enhancement, the potential benefits may include:

  • Improved blood flow to the penis.
  • Firmer, stronger erections that are easier to achieve and maintain.
  • Improved sexual stamina and performance.
  • Resolution of or a noticeable improvement in penile curvature issues.
  • Resolution of or a noticeable decrease in painful erections.
  • A noticeable increase in penile girth and length.
  • An increase in sensitivity in the penis, which heightens sexual pleasure.
  • Stronger orgasms

How Do PRP Treatments Work to Fix Men’s Sexual Issues?

Since there is a regenerative level of platelets within PRP concentrated plasma—which is full of proteins and growth factors, These bioactive agents activate dormant stem cells and other regenerative cells within the penis. Once activated, these regenerative cells promote healthy regeneration and repair of aging or damaged tissue. In addition, PRP helps improve the development of new blood vessels and collagen production to further promote healing.

How Is PRP Obtained for Injections?

During an office visit, the selected amount of harvested blood needed for a PRP treatment is drawn from the patient. The blood is then processed using a centrifuge that spins the blood at a very high speed. This process helps separate the platelet-rich plasma from the rest of the blood. Once separated from the blood, the PRP is removed and immediately used for a treatment.

How Many Platelet-Rich Plasma Replacement Therapy Injections Are Needed?

The number of injections required depends on each individual and their exact diagnosis. As such, it will vary from one patient to the next. Your doctor will review your current medical condition, overall health and well-being, and underlying issues to determine the frequency of PRP treatment that would be best for you.

How Long Does It Take to Get PRP Treatments?

A PRP treatment typically takes about 90-minutes to perform.

Do I Need Someone to Go with Me to Drive Me Home After a PRP Treatments?

You will be able to drive yourself after your PRP treatment. This is an added benefit for men who are concerned about confidentiality and not wanting to make others aware of their Men’s Sexual Health condition.

We recommend going home after the first treatment, rather than returning to work. This allows you to know how you will feel afterwards and to gauge if you feel good enough to return to work post-treatment.

How Long do Results Last?

On average, successful results can last for up to a year or more before another P-SHOT™ treatment is recommended. Results vary from individual to individual.

How Soon Can I have Sex after a PRP Treatment (P-Shot)?

We recommend you wait at least 24-hours to have sex after your P-Shot (Priapus Shot®) before engaging in sexual activity to allow the needle puncture sites to heal up so as to avoid infection, bleeding and bruising after which you can resume sexual relations with comfort and without experiencing any problems.

Are there Any Serious or Adverse Side Effects with PRP Treatments?

Since you are being treated with platelet-rich plasma (PRP) from your own blood, the risks of serious side effects and adverse events are rare to almost non-existent. Some patients can experience bruising, minor bleeding, and swelling in the location where the blood was drawn and where the PRP injections were administered into the penis. It is critically important to avoid aspirin, NSAIDS and blood thinners for at least seven (7) days prior to a PRP treatment. It is also important to avoid Viagra/Levitra/Cialis for 3 days before a PRP injection into your penis. In rare cases, an infection could occur following a P-Shot.

How Long Does It Take before Improvements are Noticed following a PRP Treatment?

The amount of time before improvements are noticed following a PRP treatment can and does vary from individual to individual. Usually, improvements are noticed within a few days to a few weeks, depending on the extent of the underlying ED condition and ones innate ability to repair and regenerate. Your physician will discuss these issues with you. Follow up visits with your physician may be recommended or scheduled to gauge your recovery process and your treatment response.
